J'Rhabye Mona
"It's time to seek out a new adventure..."
J'Rhabye Mona can be seen as a calculating and cautious person that ventures with the goal of fighting for what is right, even if the means are not what others anticipate or expect. Her mindset comes from years of guerilla fighting in Gyr Abania, surviving off of salvaged Garlean supplies and disrupting their efforts wherever she was capable of doing so. It became all she knew over time, and though her efforts lessened as pressures on the populace that remained continued to escalate, she continued to only prey on the oppressors wherever she could find the space to do so. The Eorzean Alliance's return would mark a significant change in her life as the Garlean forces got routed, leaving her without a purpose and, with difficulty, tried to find a way to return to civilisation peacefully, after years of lacking that life.

Between fencing Garlean relics and captured artifacts, she managed to acquire a wealth that would come to see her in good stead, having a stash she kept behind for such a day. With the day to return arrived, she found herself wondering where to start a new life. It was that day that she would find herself bumping into an adventuring group acting in Gyr Abania, and it was through them that she would find out about Ul'dah and residences within the Goblet. Ideal, she surmised, to invest her monetary funds into, and so she started exporting her earnings into a small spot that she would later call The Ribeye Bar. But her lust for adventure and conflict remained, a craving from her conflict with the Garleans, and so her story goes on...
Personality
"You have nothing to fear, I am on your side."
Among a more social setting, she may come off as overly formal or uncertain, placing on a friendly front while trying to gauge who is friend and foe around her. While not entirely cold, she can prove to be difficult to get close to, knowing the life she gets into and not wanting to place others in danger if she can help it, especially if they are not prepared for what is to come. She can be a difficult person when it comes to judging others, comparing other people to herself and her own experiences. Those who prove to get through all of that might find another side of her.

When thrust into conflict, however, she is focused. Determined. She is goal driven and energetic, prepared for any eventuality and ready to apply herself in whatever capacity is required. Her versatile skillset amplifies her analytical approach, using all the tools available to her to ensure that the task succeeds, often assuming control or command if she feels a path will go down a higher risk situation - and often will abandon those who go against her or act outside of her 'rational' boundaries.
Combat & Skills
"Spell or blade, whatever it takes, you will perish!"
As an accomplished Red Mage, her level of versatility is rather exceptional, able to weave the aether and her rapier with talents that put to shame some accomplished adventurers, even when she is not an expert in any particular art. With knowing that, she plays to her strengths, utilising magic where the sword cannot reach or would be ineffective, and weaving her blade with exact precision where magic would cause alarm or would reflect back upon herself. In a reflection of her inner state, however, she does find herself leaning towards more destructive magic primarily, being not entirely balanced within herself through years of conflict and lacking that interpersonal equality inside.

Not to say that this places her other talents at a disadvantage, only that her mindset will focus on the offensive before thinking defensively. She would sooner launch a burst of aether upon an opponent than rush towards an ally's side and mend their wounds, but if that opponent falls, she would then return to do what she can to help with curative spells to mend the damage inflicted. Despite the flaws, however, her talent should not be underestimated, and her skills cannot be denied.
