Raiden Himoto

"A bolt of lightning knows only one true path."

Hailing from a clan of red-skinned Raen, referred to as a clan of flaming passions, they are notably devoted to any and all tasks that they find themselves thrust upon, seeking to become the best at what they do. In commerce, in combat, in architecture, in arts, they seek to not only improve, but excel. As one of the elder remnants of this diminished clan after the fall of Doma, Raiden seeks to restore the Himoto name and unify the clan once again under a banner that seeks to strive to become the best above all others, firmly believing that nothing can stop the most determined and righteous of those who heed the call.

Taking on the name of Raiden was, in itself, controversial for him, assuming the name of a lightning bolt from the heavens, but to him it was a promise to himself and his clan, and his convictions won over even the most uncomfortable of the clan. With so few in opposition to him, he proceeded to work on expanding the reach of the clan, investing in businesses, industry, adventuring work and anything between and beyond, primarily investing his people in the efforts, but then investing financially with the growth, applying himself to every avenue himself until showing signs of slowing down, to which he then delegated responsibility so that he could expand into the west.

Personality

"People are the foundation of any good leader."

Inquisitive and respectful, Raiden does not let his position blind him to the reality of how little that means to the common person, and actually has a peaceful and calm approach to many a situation, willing to converse and negotiate, seeking a peaceful means of advancement among peaceful locales and adapting to the circumstances as needs require. Due to this, he is quite a people person, and his calm demeanour and openness to all keeps him friends with anyone who he comes to meet.

Taking on the role of a leader also means he has a disposition to aid others, seeking to rise them up and not only to support themselves, but extend that aid to others as well as helping himself, always finding chances to advance others to help advance his reach and influence, which helps his clan gain recognition and support, which further helps his own standing. This multi-layered approach towards people makes him rather cunning in negotiating with helping others and advancing the needs of his clan as well has his own needs, eager to advance deals and trade but not expending wasted efforts where he can.

Combat & Skills

"You face a crimson lightning bolt...don't blink."

Raiden is far from a slouch in training his body, either, even if his mind is applied to work more often than not. He is a master at the samurai blade, and his martial prowess is comparable to the skill of the most elite of the Monks of Ala Mhigo at their peak. A lot of his capabilities come down to his remarkable agile body and his quick-thinking mind, the intense training from his clan honing his skills to a razor's edge. Unarmed, his swift hand movements can disarm and break down opposition with quick and sharp bursts of energy, striking at critical points, shown to him through his clan's extensive knowledge and training.

As dangerous as he is without arms, however, he is even more deadly with a samurai's blade in his grasp, and is the reason he can often be seen carrying a wooden version at the hilt, for times where force is necessary, but lethal force is against the laws of the land. For in his grasp, the honed cutting edge of a sword is amplified with his speed and strength, fully capable of severing limbs and hide from even the most savage of beasts, the swiftness of which can be truly terrifying to witness.
