Tiamos Loren

"Balance in all things...that is my hope one day."

Tiamos Loren has many mysteries about himself. Not even those close to him know all his secrets, and that is intended for the better, for their sakes and his own. One thing that people agree with, however, is that Tiamos is consistently working for the betterment of Eorzea, be it his dedication to aiding those in need the most. Many ignore his oddities because of this, be it the gemstone nested upon his forehead like a third eye - masked by the tiara shaped around it if one looks closely enough - or the youth of his appearance that hides what wisdom he seems to consistently speak as if a man wise beyond his years.

He also has a habit, albeit unintentional, of placing himself in the middle of certain situations and being aware acutely of things going on, able to determine circumstances and needs with a short time of observation and oversight. Perhaps it is this abundance of talent that enables him to be a highly potent magical caster, his repertoire always expanding in Eorzea. He also finds himself dedicated to the work of the Serpents of Gridania, working alongside them on many campaigns. He also spared his aid after making allies in Ishgard and participated in the Dragonsong War, despite only acquiring a small amount of fame among companions and those he aided back to health.

He has since made his task to help anyone he can where he can be of most help, lending some measure of support to the campaign in Gyr Abania, though to a much lesser extent than before, not desiring to make a name for himself in the fight while matters back in the rest of Eorzea still needed tending to, something that the war could have potentially neglected. With a tentative peace now resting in the Eorzean landscape, Tiamos turns to preparing himself for the next great challenge, from wherever it shall come, be it Garleans or something greater.

Personality

"Being wise means knowing how little you know."

Calm and composed, Tiamos is not one that finds himself often at the thrall of anger or frustration, approaching every situation with a logical, observational stance and analysing according to the needs of the circumstance, with social interactions being a more relaxed affair in that regard. Always willing to help and stand alongside the people of Eorzea, Tiamos has found himself many friends with his approach to a majority of issues.

Not that he is immune to making enemies, however, with his approach to fixing the problems that Eorzea faces regularly, and his stance on many topics does lead to conflict every now and then, particularly with fervent believers in certain beliefs and stances that he comes across. However, his open minded nature and willingness to reconcile with others often negates these tensions, being charismatic enough to convince others of withdrawing to a middle ground or even countering their beliefs with contrasting knowledge and information.

Combat & Skills

"Knowing how to act doesn't permit recklessness."

On a foundational level, Tiamos is a master of magic in a true sense of the word, being highly capable and adaptable to many of Eorzea's magical forces. Primarily his expertise lies in conjury and thaumaturgy, but his paths have had him cross that of the Red and Blue, as well as embracing the wisdom in arcanima and the stars over time. This versatile skillset, along with arcane knowledge that comes over as rare among most civilised society, has led to his talents being put to more use.

In spite of this, his close companions would notice that he does not seem to focus on the art of calling forth flames in his work. Something that would be picked up by the most observant is that he retracts when it comes to the use of fire, and warns others against permitting him to use such powers without a great need to use them. Aside from more obvious physical flaws, this would be the most prominently spoken of, though his mastery of the arcane has helped him overcome the physical shortcomings over time, making him a danger to any who have the misfortune of standing on the other side of him in conflict.
